Brow Tattoo Aftercare

Aftercare Instructions for Cosmetic Tattoo Brow Treatments

Congratulations on your new cosmetic tattoo brow treatment at Aceso Aesthetics! Proper aftercare is crucial to ensure the best results and longevity of your beautiful brows. Please follow these important guidelines to promote optimal healing and to maintain the integrity of your new cosmetic tattoo.

First 24 hrs:

Before touching your brows, make sure your hands are clean. Every 2-3 hours, take a lightly damp cotton round and gently wipe through your brows. Pat them dry with a clean tissue, then apply a small amount of aftercare ointment to each brow with a cotton tip.

For the first 2 weeks post treatment:
(14 days)

Once in the morning and once in the evening, take a lightly damp cotton round and gently wipe through your brows. Pat them dry with a clean tissue, then apply a small amount of aftercare ointment to each brow with a cotton tip.

During the healing process, please keep the following in mind:

  • Brows may appear darkest from days 1 to 3.

  • Do not pick or scratch: It is normal for the treated area to experience some mild itching or flaking. However, resist the urge to scratch or pick at your brows, as this can disrupt the healing process and potentially cause pigment loss. *When required add a small amount of ointment to soothe the area.

  • The final healed results will always be lighter than when the tattoo is freshly done. Over time, the colour will fade by 30% to 50% and may gradually reappear through the skin over the next 2-3 weeks. It's normal for the colour to vary and even appear warm-toned (red/orange) on some days.

  • Your brows may appear uneven, and patches of colour may fade. Try not to judge or overly scrutinise them during the first few weeks.

  • Trust the process. It's normal to feel emotional during this period. Remember to be patient as the skin heals over the tattoo.

When you have a cosmetic tattoo procedure, you won't see the final result until the skin has healed. Once your brows have healed your skin acts as a protective barrier, preventing water and other external factors from interfering with the pigment that was deposited under your skin during the treatment. However, your skin takes time to heal. Until this process is complete, the pigment is vulnerable to external moisture, active ingredients in skincare, and salt or chlorinated water which can all cause patchy or faded healed results.

To ensure proper healing and long-lasting results, please observe the following:

  • Avoid getting your brow wet in the first two weeks. Therefore you must avoid swimming, saunas, steam rooms.

*If you purchased DRY BROW patches to keep your brows dry and protected during healing, please see the tutorial video, found below, for correct application. It is also recommened to keep half the pack for use after your follow up appointment if possible.

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning for the first two weeks.
*Note: Long term your should protect your brows from sun exposure by wearing a wide-brimmed ha or using a physical sunscreen with a high SPF. UV rays can fade the pigment and compromise the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo.

  • You can continue to use makeup and skincare products on your face, but you must avoid the newly tattooed area. This will help prevent infection and ensure proper healing. Please be more deliberate with you application of any face products and makeup. Remember Make Up Brushes carry a lot of bacteria, avoid having these touch the newly tattooed brows to minimise risk of infection.

  • Light exercise is recommended for the first 1-2 weeks to prevent excessive sweating into the brows. Avoid activities that may cause excessive sweating: Sweating can increase the risk of infection and may cause the pigment to fade prematurely. Refrain from intense workouts and activities that induce excessive sweating during the healing period. Sweat carries bacteria and we must minimise any risk of infection.

  • Do not use any exfoliating products or treatments: Avoid using chemical peels, retinol, or any other exfoliating products near your brows, as they can cause the pigment to fade faster.

follow up appointment

To ensure the best outcome and to perfect the shape and colour of your brows, a follow up appointment is required 6 to 8 weeks after ALL cosmetic tattoo treatments for best results.
Follow up appointments cost just $150, and is a repeat of the first procedure.

Follow up are as important as your initial tattoo treatment, This is an opportunity to assess your tattoo retention and adjust our technique depending on how your skin has healed. Having a second application allows the pigment to bond to the skin and provides a consistent appearance and longevity of the new cosmetic tattoo.

Additional touch-ups may be required for some clients based on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, hormones, and individual healing patterns. While we cannot guarantee specific outcomes due to individual skin and lifestyle variations, we emphasise the importance of correct aftercare and maintenance for optimal tattoo results

Remember, everyone's healing process is unique. Be patient, and allow your brows to go through the natural healing stages.
